The Rainbow Valley colony was established by members of the Standfast Bible Student Colony, which was in nearby Sooke, BC. Little is known about life in this remote colony located on Vancouver Island’s southwest coast. Dissatisfied with life at the Standfast Bible Student Colony, a number of members established the Rainbow Valley Colony and continued to live simple lives, including living in tents. Within a few years, this colony also disbanded.
